Arizona --Sales and Use Tax: 911 Wireless and Wireline Rate Reduction, Local Tax Rate Change Announced, Dec. 06, 2006

The Arizona wireless and wireline telecommunications tax rates are scheduled to decrease from 28 cents per month to 20 cents per month for each activated wireless and wireline service account, effective July 1, 2007.
The town of Thatcher increases its local transaction privilege tax on construction contracting from a rate of 2% to 3.5%, effective December 1, 2006. Preexisting contracts continue to be reported at a rate of 2%.

Illinois --Sales and Use Tax: Local Rate Changes Announced, Dec. 06, 2006

The Illinois Department of Revenue has announced the following Illinois sales and use tax rate changes for cities and business districts, effective January 1, 2007.

City Rate Changes
The following Illinois cities will increase their municipal sales tax rate on general merchandise, resulting in a combined state and local rate as noted: Carpentersville (Kane County), 8% (formerly, 7.75%); Countryside (Cook County), 8% (formerly, 7.75%); East Dundee (Cook County), 9.25% (formerly, 8.75%); East Dundee (Kane County), 8% (formerly, 7.5%); Flora (Clay County), 7.25% (formerly, 6.75%); Lombard (DuPage County), 7.75% (formerly, 6.75%); Long Grove (Lake County), 7.5% (formerly, 6.5%); McLean (McLean County), 6.75% (formerly, 6.25%); Merrionette Park (Cook County), 8.75% (formerly, 8.25%); Northbrook (Cook County), 8.5% (formerly, 8.25%); Park City (Lake County), 7.5% (formerly, 7%); Tilton (Vermilion County), 7.5% (formerly, 7%); Urbana (Champaign County), 7.75% (formerly, 7.5%); Villa Park (DuPage County), 7.25% (formerly, 6.75%); Woodridge (Cook County), 8.5% (formerly, 8%); Woodridge (DuPage County), 7.25% (formerly, 6.75%); Woodridge (Will County), 7.25% (formerly, 6.75%).

Business District Rate Changes

Belleville (St. Clair County) will impose a 1% Carlyle/Green Mount Business District tax, resulting in a combined state and local rate of 8.6% inside this district.
Collinsville (Madison County) will impose a 1% Collinsville Crossing North Business District tax and a 0.5% Collinsville Crossing South Business District tax, resulting in combined state and local rates of 7.6% and 7.1%, respectively, inside these districts.
Edwardsville (Madison County) will impose a 1% Troy Road/Route 159 Business District tax, resulting in a combined state and local rate of 7.6% inside this district.
Glen Carbon (Madison County) will impose a 1% Troy Road/Route 159 Business District tax, resulting in a combined state and local rate of 7.6% inside this district.
Lombard (DuPage County) will increase its Lombard Business District #1 tax by 1%, resulting in a combined state and local rate of 8.75% inside this district.
Swansea (St. Clair County) will impose a 1% Illinois Route 159/Boul Avenue Business District tax, resulting in a combined state and local rate of 8.6% inside this district.
Wood River (Madison County) will impose a 1% Riverbend Business District #3 tax, resulting in a combined state and local rate of 7.6% inside this district.

Missouri --Sales and Use Tax: Local Tax Rate Changes Announced, Dec. 06, 2006

The following Missouri local sales tax rate changes are effective January 1, 2007.

County Changes
Bollinger County imposes a 0.125% additional county sales tax. Its total sales tax rate will be 5.85%. The county rate change affects the following cities in Bollinger County (total sales tax rates are in parentheses): Arab (5.85%); Gipsy (5.85%); Glenallen (5.85%); Grassy (5.85%); Leopold (5.85%); Marble Hill (7.35%); Patton (5.85%); Scopus (5.85%); Sedgewickville (5.85%); Sturdivant (5.85%); and Zalma (5.85%).

Cape Girardeau County imposes a 0.50% additional county sales tax. Its total sales tax rate will be 5.225%. The county rate change affects the following cities in Cape Girardeau County (total sales tax rates are in parentheses): Allenville (5.225%); Appleton (5.225%); Burfordville (5.225%); Cape Girardeau (7.475%); Daisy (5.225%); Delta (6.725%); Dutchtown (6.225%); Friedheim (5.225%); Fruitland (5.225%); Gordonville (5.225%); Jackson (6.725%); Millersville (5.225%); New Wells (5.225%); Oak Ridge (5.225%); Old Appleton (5.225); Pocahontas (5.225%); Scott City (6.975%); Shawneetown (5.225%); and Whitewater (5.225%).

St. Charles County has reduced its capital improvements sales tax to 0.20% (previous, 0.25%). Its total sales tax rate will be 5.9%). The county rate change affects the following cities in St. Charles County (total sales tax rates are in parentheses): Augusta (7.4%); Cottleville (7.4%); Dardenne Prairie (7.4%); Dardenne Prairie Bryan Road Community Improvement District (7.9%); Defiance (5.9%); Flint Hill (6.9%); Foristell (7.4%); Fort Zumwait (5.9%); Harvester (5.9%); Josephville (6.9%); Lake St. Louis (7.4%); Matson (5.9%); New Melle (7.9%); O'Fallon (7.4%); O'Fallon Caledonia Community Improvement District (8.025%); Orchard Farm (5.9%); Peruque (5.9%); Portage Des Sioux (6.9%); St. Charles (7.4%); St. Charles Riverfront Community Improvement District (8.4%); St. Paul (5.9%); St. Peters (7.5%); Weldon Springs (6.4%); Weldon Springs Heights (5.9%); Wentzville (7.9%); and West Alton (5.9%).

City Changes

In addition, the following cities have sales tax rate changes effective January 1, 2007.
Doolittle imposes a 0.50% city sales tax that applies to domestic utilities.
Lathrop expires its existing 1% city sales tax that applies to domestic utilities.
Osceola and Pevely each impose a 0.50% capital improvement sales tax.
Ozark imposes a 0.50% storm water/local parks tax.
University City and University City (T1) each impose a 0.25% economic development sales tax.

Special Districts

The voters in various ambulance, fire protection, and special improvement districts have imposed various local sales taxes, effective January 1, 2007.

Texas --Sales and Use Tax: Local Rate Change Set for First Quarter 2007, Dec. 06, 2006

Mountain City (Hays County) has adopted a Texas local sales and use tax rate of 1%, resulting in a combined state and local rate of 7.75%, effective January 1, 2007.
